Town are sweating on the fitness of two of their Irish contingent ahead of tonight's delicately poised FA Youth Cup final second leg at Portman Road against Southampton (KO 7.45pm). Left-back Michael Synnott and central midfielder Owen Garvan both picked up knee injuries in Monday's first leg at the St Mary's Stadium.

Town's U18s will feel they have every chance of lifting the FA Youth Cup at Portman Road on Friday after a 2-2 draw with Southampton in the first leg at the St Mary's Stadium. The Saints went ahead via a David McGoldrick penalty seconds before the break but two goals from Cathal Lordan put the Blues ahead prior to Leon Best's equaliser.

Town's U18s travel to Southampton tonight for the first leg of the club's first FA Youth final for 30 years (KO 7.45pm). The Blues will be without striker Billy Clarke who has a knee injury which he sustained late in the second leg of the semi-final with Spurs.

Goals from Liam Trotter and Aidan Collins took Town into their first FA Youth Cup final for 30 years. The Blues, two-up from the first leg, went behind on the night when Simon Dawkins netted in the 63rd minute but hit back immediately though Trotter, Collins sealing the 4-1 aggregate win late on.

Town's automatic promotion hopes were dealt a big blow by a 2-0 defeat at Wolves. The Blues were well off the pace in a first half during which Colin Cameron and Carl Cort put the home side two goals in front. Town improved after the break but created few chances.
